The Food Network Convergent team works at the unique, exciting intersection of digital and on-air programming. We focus on promoting awareness of and driving tune in to all linear programming premieres through original digital-first content that serves both super-fans and untapped audiences across Food Network's digital and social platforms, which includes 70 million followers. No two days are alike on our team. We work closely with Food Network's video, PR, and programming teams on a daily basis to make engaging, buzzy, and on-brand flat and video content on tight timelines and strict deadlines. We work hard to promote Food Network's culinary brand, talent and programming in new ways that inspire and engage.
This position reports to the Digital Editorial Director, Convergence. This person must work collaboratively with members of Food Network’s and Cooking Channel's digital programming, editorial, ad sales and video teams, as well as external production companies, to ensure deadlines are met. This person must be agile, flexible and able to work in the food category primarily but with the ability to work in lifestyle and unscripted content and integrations as the business dictates. This person must develop and maintain an effective working relationship with global WBD teams (Video, Affiliate Sales, Search), Culinary Editors and the Food Network and Cooking Channel Programming teams as well as with other genre and category teams.
Your Role Accountabilities…
Manage all digital and social promotions of assigned daytime and primetime series with an eye toward social and linear growth for complete lifecycle of the show, starting with pre-greenlight ideation through post-finale postmortem.
Support Food Network and DTC brand initiatives with daily social postings across Food Network and Cooking Channel brand platforms to support linear premieres, drive tune-in to on-air priorities and increase streams on discovery+ and MAX.
Conceptualize and implement pre-, in- and post-season content for assigned shows to create robust 360-degree plan that incorporates social and site needs.
Ideate and create original and repurposed assets through various production channels including, but not limited to, on-set exclusives, existing linear-library assets, images, recipes and interviews.
Submit video edit requests, project management updates, post-production notes and post- premiere performance reports.
Produce and film original on-set digital videos with network talent, contestants and hosts – including, but not limited to, exclusive interviews, recipe demos, culinary games, behind-the- scenes tours and programming quizzes, all with an eye for social-first promotions and shareability across platforms.
Liaise with linear production companies to capture convergent initiatives on set.
Own Food Network digital’s Repurposed video project, produced in conjunction with external post house.
Communicate with PR and talent relations teams to announce upcoming premieres and secure chef/contestant approvals for digital appearances.
Build and optimize FoodNetwork.com show and talent pages to align with upcoming premieres.
Curate weekly Convergent Team Highlights email to be distributed to top-level brand executives and series stakeholders.
Oversee convergent assistant editor and intern.
Qualifications And Experience...
3-5 years’ experience working on a digital brand.
Knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite, web and mobile technologies, media production, web design, communication, integrated advertising and dissemination techniques and methods.
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
Ability to coordinate and prioritize large and diverse workloads to meet deadlines.
Initiative to work independently and proactively, and ability to assess and prioritize information.
Strong writing skills, specifically to fit the voice of the overall brand/site strategy.
Ability to manage and thrive in a dynamic environment with shifting priorities.
Knowledge of primary research, writing, editing, and copy style.
Ability to manage work of self and others.
Advanced attention to detail.
Education: Bachelor’s degree or equivalent related experience.
