Sports Anchor/Reporter (Part Time)

We are looking for a part-time Sports Anchor/Reporter to join our top-rated team.

We want a sports junkie who is a solid anchor but also not afraid to pick up gear and hit the ground running. You will be working on local sports stories for Sports Final Edition, our half-hour Sunday Sports Show and anchoring weekend sportscasts. In addition, you will be responsible for producing stories for our digital platforms and social media channels content which may also be broadcast on our daily sports segments.

Experience

Have on-camera experience, with an engaging personality, strong writing skills as well as some experience in social media and website publishing.
Be a team player, whos aggressive, is ready to ask questions, accepts constructive feedback and learns from mistakes.
Must be an active, enthusiastic participant in editorial discussions, and contribute ideas and stories to the daily cross-platform news effort.
Must be able to work a flexible schedule that may include nights, overnights, weekends and holidays.
Ability to multi-task and work in a fast-paced environment, remain calm under pressure and manage deadlines.

Requirements

Extensive knowledge of local and national sports A real interest and determination to stay informed of local high school, college, and pro sports teams
A self-starter who can take a concept or thought and turn it into a story for digital, social and air
Participates in editorial planning for story coverage and pitches content ideas
Shoots, produces, edits audio, video, and written content for all platforms
Ability to be active and engaging on social media Does not hesitate to pitch in across the newsroom for urgent, breaking, or seasonal situations
Must have the ability to work in fast-paced environment calmly and manage deadline pressures Ability to take feedback, follow directions and work within a team format
Strong storytelling skills and attention to AP & conversational style-writing
Be active and involved in the community through appearances and promotions
Must have excellent interpersonal and communication skills
At least two years experience as a sports anchor/reporter/photographer in a TV newsroom
College degree in journalism or broadcasting preferred
