WGVU Audio Anchor / Producer

This position serves as the anchor and producer of WGVU’s Morning Edition West Michigan (airing from 6 – 9 am, Monday through Friday) as well as writes and edits spot and feature news stories for on air and digital delivery. Candidates should demonstrate the ability to be creative, innovative, and organized, as well as the ability to work both collaboratively and independently.
Primary Duties
Hosts, writes, and delivers newscasts during WGVU’s Morning Edition program.
Researches, writes, voices, produces, and edit daily spot and/or feature news stories for on air and digital platforms.
Updates station website with local news stories.
Hosts or co-hosts station programs or events as needed.
Represents WGVU Public Media at station-sponsored events.
Assists in on air fundraising efforts.
Excels in a collaborative, multiplatform culture and work environment.
Helps carry out the station’s strategic plan.
Performs other duties as required/assigned by manager.
