Wondery, Ongoing Series - Senior Producer

Wondery is hiring for a Senior Producer for one of its weekly nonfiction narrative podcasts. This role will work closely with a team of writers, story editors, research consultants, producers, hosts and sound designers to oversee story arcs on this weekly show. If you’re a leader and a team player with strong script editing skills, a bias for action and an ear for post-production, we want to hear from you.

This position is 30 hours per week for six months with the possibility to extend. We’re looking for someone to start ASAP. Compensation is based on experience and skillset and will be no less than $1400 per week of service. This position does not provide health, retirement, or pension benefits.

Main Job Responsibilities:

Oversee day-to-day operations of the show, shepherding episodes from inception through the final mix. Give final notes on outlines and scripts, including line edits. Give feedback and guidance to writers and story editors. Provide research and fact-checking support as needed. Direct recording sessions with hosts and voice talent. Review all mixes and give detailed notes and feedback to sound designers. Communicate and post deadlines to team slack channel. Work with producers and production management on the series calendar. Track show calendar and deadlines/ make sure all series are on track for each step. Insist on the highest standards for scripts, mixes and metadata. Participate in research and brainstorming sessions to identify and shape future story arcs.

Required Qualifications: 5 - 7 years of relevant experience Must have experience editing scripts with a character-driven narrative Experience conducting research for story-driven and fact-based shows Experience giving mix notes for shows with sound design Experience managing day-to-day logistics of a weekly show Self-starter and excited to be a team player and leader

Preferred Qualifications: Experience working on weekly, long-form scripted audio shows Excellent writing and editing skills, preferably on scripted nonfiction content An interest in adventure travel and wilderness survival
