LIMRA and LOMA is the world’s largest international research and education association for the financial services industry. Our Content Department in the Professional Development Division has an opening for an entry-level writer who will create learning content for our education programs. Content Team members cross-train in content writing, exam writing, and instructional design. This role has a solid career path with defined opportunities for growth.
The Writer role is a full-time position with a full benefits package that starts on day one. We also offer a ‘Work For Your Day’ extremely flexible hybrid schedule! Locations are either Atlanta, GA or Windsor, CT or open to full time remote for the ideal candidate.
Position Summary
The person in this position works as part of a development team, researching, designing, writing, and editing college-level insurance, annuity, and workplace benefits learning content. The writer collaborates with other writers, instructional designers, online developers, and subject-matter experts from our member companies to ensure that the content meets our members’ needs and is accurate, relevant, and engaging. These relationships require a very high degree of professionalism and diplomacy.
Major Responsibilities
Creating, writing, editing, and directing the production and delivery of learning products, which may include online learning courses, instructor-led training (in-person and virtual), videos, review questions and examinations, and other learning materials
Using authoring tools and visual design skills to produce finished learning products
Selecting, recruiting, interacting effectively with, and managing the work of industry subject matter experts serving as content reviewers
Editing and reviewing the work of other course developers and writers in the department
Conducting research in specific subject fields as assigned
Representing the Professional Development Division and LIMRA and LOMA at meetings and other functions
Successful completion of the FLMI insurance education program within 18 months of hire
