Purpose of role.
The Writer and Content Producer is responsible for creating and producing high-quality content and articles for Student Edge, our clients, and our corporate brand.
About the role.
Source and produce engaging content for Student Edge members, our brand partners, B2B content for our corporate brand and other content as required – everything from pop culture to politics.
Proofread and edit copy as required.
Write grammatically correct copy while maintaining our fun and witty tone of voice.
Assist in developing strategy and driving execution for all member-first campaigns, including but not limited to, reviewing copy for digital communications, social media, promotions, and competitions.
Write engaging content for all client campaigns including Native Content articles, quizzes, social media, and digital communications.
Conduct interviews and research for articles.
Develop content for video/podcast and assist in production as required.
Collaborate with Student Edge contributors and freelancers.
Work with internal and external stakeholders to develop clear and effective briefs.
Assist the marketing and revenue team with editorial and content duties.
Adhoc duties, as required.
What you will need.
A talent for writing about a wide range of topics important to young people is ESSENTIAL and you’ll need to have your finger on the pulse to know the issues/current affairs/pop culture that are relevant.
A background or tertiary qualifications in communications, journalism, content production or related discipline, plus 1-3 years’ experience in a similar role.
A portfolio of previously published written work is also essential.
You’ll need to be able to create copy for communications.
Experience with video and podcast production and a willingness to appear in-front of the camera is highly desirable.
You must have passion, creativity, and exceptional attention to detail.
You’ll need a National Police Clearance and Working With Children’s Check if selected for the role (if you don’t already have one).
