A female-founded and female-run online consulting and education company is looking for a copy editor and content writer with experience in the interior design industry to undertake various writing projects
RESPONSIBILITIES
As a content writer and copyeditor, you will be responsible for creating engaging and informative content across various platforms. Your main duties will include:
Copyediting Projects
Review and edit marketing materials —such as blog posts, newsletters, ads, and website copy — with an understanding of the interior design process and industry
Repurpose existing content across social media platforms, blog posts, and newsletter
Review and copy-edit internal company documents as needed to ensure alignment with brand guidelines and audience
Assist with various creative writing projects
Content Writing Projects
Write product descriptions
Repurpose content and create new drafts or outlines for new material when needed
Write blog posts
Ensure all content is optimized for SEO and follows best practices
Write ads
Write SEO descriptions
Write surveys
Write email sequences and lead magnet content
Write marketing content that aligns with target audience
Assist with various creative writing projects
Identify customer needs and gaps in current content and recommend new topics
Update website content as needed
SKILLS & EXPERIENCE
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in a professional business setting
2+ years experience in the interior design industry
2+ years of writing/copy-editing experience
Proficient in Asana and Google Docs
Knowledge of the interior design industry and its many processes and nuances
Knowledge of SEO
Knowledge of design software a plus, including Houzz Pro, Studio Designer, Design Files, Chief Architect, Sketchup, etc.
General business knowledge
Ability to manage multiple projects with various deadlines
Ability to meet deadlines without constant oversight and checking of work by management. If you need to be micromanaged, this is not the role for you.
Attention to detail, cohesiveness, and consistency
Excellent writing and editing skills in English with ability to adapt tone and style for different audiences
Professional written and verbal communication and presentation skills
Organized
Team player
Self-starter and self-motivated
Critical thinker with ability to look ahead and assess how writing pieces are intertwined with the company mission and goals
Experience with working remotely
DETAILS
Hours: Part-time, flexible, 20-30 hours/month
Location: Remote
Start Date: March 2024, flexible
Availability: Prefer someone with daytime availability during some of my business hours (M-Th 9-4 pm central time). Night and weekend availability is fine as long as project deadlines are met. Working nights and weekends is not expected.
Status: 1099 position
