Writers Wanted (Data Engineering/Insights) (Worldwide) | $900 per article

Airbyte is looking for data engineers to share their knowledge through blog articles. We think it is important that our writers are the same audience as Airbyte users, notably: data engineers, analysts, and backend developers. The articles are published in our blog under the data insights or tutorials sections. Articles under the data insights section include thought leadership pieces where you share your view on a topic or introduce a foundational concept. Articles under the tutorials section include code and steps to build a data product using modern data tools like Airbyte. To write Airbyte specific tutorials, it helps if you are an Airbyte OSS user or Airbyte Cloud client.
WHAT IS THE PROCESS?
- Apply to become a writer: We want to provide the best possible experience to writers. You can apply to become a writer through our application form. We would love to hear about your experience working with data, your experience using Airbyte (bonus), and your experience as a writer (bonus).
- Agree on a topic: Once we have reviewed your application, we will schedule a call to come up with a topic based on your experience and interests. You can also select a topic listed as an issue on our Write for the Community Github project.
- Create an outline: We will create an outline together in a Google Doc.
- Review the article: You can start drafting the article on the same Google Doc as the outline. One of our internal writers will comment and add suggestions to the document. You can also schedule pair-writing sessions to advance on the article together.
- Publish the article: We will publish the article in our blog for you. Then, we distribute the article on our social media and newsletter. We can also work together to distribute the article on Reddit and Hacker News.
- How much do I get paid? You get paid $900 for an article of about 1500 words after the article is published. We handle payments through Deel. Can I cross-post the article? Yes, you can cross-post the article on other platforms like Medium or your personal blog as long as you are able to add a canonical link to the article URL on the Airbyte website. Can I write in languages other than English? No, unfortunately content published on our blog is currently in English only.
