A newly formed, nonprofit news collaborative launching on Florida’s dynamic west coast is hiring a multimedia journalist specializing in creating video news content for use on TV and digital to be part of a small team of experienced reporters who will create content for use by media partners in Sarasota, Manatee and DeSoto counties. The Community News Collaborative is dedicated to creating journalism with reach that connects communities; improves quality of life through information, understanding and empowerment; and fosters a more informed, passionate and civic-minded population. As a multimedia reporter, you’ll be identifying great stories and working with the collaborative’s participants by producing balanced, high-quality journalism, with an eye on Southwest Florida’s rich history, current challenges and dynamic people. The Community News Collaborative will be housed at WUSF Public Media which is part of the University of South Florida. CNC staff will enjoy the benefits of being a USF employee.
