Zillow’s in-house creative agency is seeking an expert storyteller to produce real estate content for our vast national audience. Our work covers a wide variety of subjects, including home buying, renting, selling, and financing. Our audience also loves to learn about decor and design trends, home improvement, and dream homes.
The focus for this role will be telling stories that help our customers and partners move forward in their home journeys. You'll get access to Zillow's trove of research and market insights, while building relationships with interesting sources inside and outside the company. Since real estate is both serious and fun, the ideal candidate will be able to engage a diverse audience while crafting highly accurate, trustworthy content.

What you'll do:
Collaborate with internal and external experts to develop ideas that will resonate with Zillow customers and partners.
Research, write, and publish new pieces and updates each week, and handle other content projects as needed.
Stay current on news and trends in real estate, design and decor, and home improvement.
Craft your ideas and writing to perform well in emails, social channels, and search.
Collaborate with other writers, designers, and video content producers to tell stories in multiple formats.
This role has been categorized as a Remote position. “Remote” employees do not have a permanent corporate office workplace and, instead, work from a physical location of their choice which must be identified to the Company. Employees may live in any of the 50 US States, with limited exceptions. In certain cases, an employee in a remote-designated job may need to live in a specific region or time zone to support customers or clients as part of their role.
In California, Colorado, Connecticut, Nevada, New York and Washington the standard base pay range for this role is $87,000.00 - $139,000.00 Annually. This base pay range is specific to California, Colorado, Connecticut, Nevada, New York and Washington and may not be applicable to other locations.
In addition to a competitive base salary this position is also eligible for equity awards based on factors such as experience, performance and location. Actual amounts will vary depending on experience, performance and location.
Who you are
A versatile reporter and writer for a media outlet or a major brand with at least 5 years of full-time experience writing online, preferably for a national audience.
A conscientious storyteller who’s able to empathize with readers from a wide range of geographies, incomes, demographics, and aesthetic preferences.
Fluent in the online conversation around real estate, home design, and improvement. Prior experience writing about these subjects is a bonus but not required.
An eagle-eyed editor who can serve as the last piece of eyes on an article before publishing it.
A kind, fun colleague who enjoys mixing it up with other creatives and helping customers tackle problems with engaging, accurate writing.
