Prior to joining CNN, Abdelrahman was the commerce editor at Real Simple, where she edited and wrote product reviews, gift guides and best-of roundups across nearly every vertical on the site. Before that, she was a staff writer covering all things shopping related for most of Dotdash Meredith’s digital publications, including Food & Wine, Travel + Leisure, InStyle and Better Homes & Gardens.

Early in her career, Abdelrahman also worked at Good Housekeeping, where she learned the ins and outs of product testing. There, she collaborated with the esteemed Good Housekeeping Institute pros to create in-depth stories for the website and print magazine. She has interviewed various types of experts — such as interior designers, textile scientists and professional chefs — for trusted advice and product recommendations.

Abdelrahman holds a bachelor’s degree in communications and journalism from Montclair State University in New Jersey, where she currently resides in an area just outside New York City.
