Annie Gaus leads The Standard’s business and politics coverage, touching a wide range of topics from public health and homelessness to city government and the Bay Area’s post-Covid economy.

Before joining The Standard, she was a longtime technology, business and finance reporter who cut her teeth as a video journalist at Discovery Communications.

During the pandemic, she launched an independent newsletter called Public Comment focusing on the impact of Covid on her hometown of San Francisco.
