Bailey Berg
Bailey Berg is a writer and editor who splits her time between Colorado and Alaska.
Bailey is particularly passionate about stories that share how travel can be used for good—for people, animals, and the planet. Other beats include the outdoors, astrotourism, expedition cruising, hotels, sustainability, and design.
She’s also created content for brands, including Alaska Pacific University, Alaska Native Tribal Health Center, Alaska Regional Hospital, and First National Bank of Alaska, among others.
You may have seen her work in The New York Times, The Washington Post, National Geographic, The Guardian, Conde Nast Traveler, Travel + Leisure, Lonely Planet, Atlas Obscura, Vice, Men’s Journal, GQ, Huffington Post, Slate, Roadtrippers, Architectural Digest, U.S. News & World Report, and many more publications. She’s also served as Associate Travel News Editor at AFAR, where she wrote daily articles on news, travel tips, destination inspiration, cruises, hotels, and commerce.
Bailey grew up in Wisconsin and attended Drake University in Des Moines, Iowa, where she triple majored in News/Internet Journalism, Magazine Journalism, and International Relations. Earlier in her career, she did social media for Alaska Pacific University, served as a reporter for Alaska Dispatch News and Wisconsin State Journal, and spent a year teaching English and newspaper basics to 250+ students at a university in Guilin, Guangxi, China.
When not interviewing sources or writing articles, she can be found exploring art galleries, sampling the latest beers from craft breweries, hiking with her dogs, and planning her next adventure (at present, she’s been to 100/195 UN-recognized nations and hopes to spend time in all of them within the next decade).
