I'm a journalist covering everything from travel to entertainment to social justice to the California real estate market. My work appears regularly in The New York Times, and I am also a frequent contributor to The Wall Street Journal, Conde Nast Traveler and other top publications.

For nearly a decade I lived in and reported from Israel, where I covered the Middle East entertainment industry as the Tel Aviv stringer for Variety and produced award-winning travel feature stories including "In Israel, A New Passion for Palestinian Cuisine" for The New York Times, which won a Lowell Thomas Award for best travel journalism.

In 2018, I gave a TedX Talk in Porto, Portugal, about my experiences reporting in Kigali, Rwanda for The New York Times and that nation's success in rebuilding after their genocide 30 years ago.

I currently live in San Diego with my husband, our twin daughters and our rescue pup.
