
Diana Taremwa Karakire
Diana Taremwa Karakire is a multi-award-winning freelance international journalist in Uganda covering Africa. She writes for local and international publications covering human rights, oil and gas, renewables,migration, environment,agriculture, Indigenous communities and extractives. Diana is a 2024 Pulitzer Centre grantee and leverages storytelling to amplify the voices of marginalized communities, hold governments and companies accountable and promote environment conservation.She has received numerous awards, the latest being the Uganda Wildlife Conservation Media Award(2023) and the Uganda National Journalism Award ( Energy, Petroleum & Mining Reporting 2023). Her articles have been featured in The Continent Africa (Mail & Guardian), EqualTimes, Ubuntu Times, African Business Magazine, and the Earth Journalism Network.
