
Eleanor Beidatsch
Eleanor Beidatsch is a young, passionate, disability rights and environmental activist just starting her career as a science journalist.
Eleanor has written for The Southerly Magazine and Albany Advertiser and published a short story in the Snap Journal in 2016 and an editorial in 2018 in a student publication, Pelican Magazine .
She was born with a genetic disorder. Spinal Muscular Atrophy (SMA) Type 1, which causes extreme muscle weakness and mobility impairment. Despite the complications of her disability, Eleanor is studying marine biology, palaeontology, and journalism at three separate institutions, the University of Western Australia, University of New England, and Deakin University.
Eleanor volunteers with three community organisations and runs two blogs; Accessible4Me, a fashion, food, and travel blog with a focus on disability access, and Eleanor''s Investigations where she publishes her freelance and community work.
