Emma is a Chicago-based journalist, editor, and content strategist. She was most recently a Senior Editor at Mic and a Contributing Editor at Teen Vogue, with more work appearing in New York Magazine, Refinery 29, Cosmopolitan, Allure, Bustle, MTV News, Ozy, WIRED, and Men’s Health, among others. Emma covers a wide range of topics, including sustainability, travel, wellness, and social justice.
In addition to writing and reporting, Emma’s work involves assigning, editing and producing editorial content; writing and curating newsletters; moderating panels and conducting live interviews; and creating social media content. She previously worked full-time in both digital advertising and e-commerce retail, and draws on those skills today when writing and editing content for brands such as Nike, OXO, Marriott, Adobe, Eagle Creek, Advertising Week, and more.
Emma brings a vast range of skills to the table, including Adobe Photoshop & Premiere, social media, SEO optimization, voiceover, project management, photography, and intermediate Spanish language.
Before returning to her native Chicago, Emma lived in London, UK, and New York City and continues to be passionate about exploring the world, particularly through the realms of sustainable and ethical tourism and outdoor adventure. She’s an enthusiastic advocate of adult hobbies — hers include mural painting, sewing and upcycling, and music classes.
