Jackie Crea joined NBC 7 in May 2019. This is a return home to Southern California after 8 years away in Texas and Colorado. This move also brings her career full circle as she started her first internship at NBC 7 in 2008. She also worked as a freelance writer and teleprompter operator.Jackie graduated from UCSD in 2008, with a Bachelor of Arts in Communications and a study abroad semester in Barcelona, Spain.Her first TV job was at the NBC/CBS duopoly KTSM in El Paso, Texas.

She covered immigration and military stories that included traveling with soldiers in a Blackhawk to a simulated Afghan village for immersion training. She also reported on a visit from President Obama at Fort Bliss.
