I’m originally from the north of Scotland and I currently write on all aspects of Russia’s invasion of Ukraine, basing myself in Kyiv and taking trips around the country to see and report on the effects of the war first-hand. My career as a journalist goes back nearly two decades and I have particularly extensive experience of writing about music, culture and travel, topics I continue to cover both with and without a Ukrainian slant.

When I am in London I work as a sub-editor at the Guardian and Observer and take on a wide variety of freelance work including copywriting, band/DJ bios and panel—presenting.
