Meaghan Harmon
Contributor and Lead Editor at Forbes
Meaghan is a Lead Editor with Forbes Health who brings unique clinical experience to her role. As a licensed acupuncturist (L.Ac), she spent several years prior to joining the Forbes Health team practicing acupuncture and integrative medicine, with a focus on women’s wellness and perinatal care. Prior to practicing acupuncture, Meaghan completed a comprehensive four-year integrative medicine master’s program and passed four national board exams.
Holistic health and wellness are lifelong interests that run parallel to Meaghan’s experience in the fields of language learning and media (writing/editing). After studying English at Boston University, she became certified as an English as a Second Language (ESL) instructor, working at a university in Quito, Ecuador, as well as language schools in Boston and San Francisco for several years. Meaghan believes her experience as an ESL instructor has been invaluable to her subsequent editorial roles, from her work as an editor at a print-only publication in Boston, to freelance editing and writing roles she took on during her master’s program, and, of course, to her daily work at Forbes Health. Meaghan always had the goal of combining her health experience with her love of writing and editing, which is why Forbes Health is the perfect fit for her skill set.
Meaghan is a mom to a beautiful and funny toddler girl, and the pair currently live in Maine. In her free time, Meaghan loves practicing yoga, hiking, cooking, reading, and inspiring a love of travel in her daughter. She is fluent in spoken and written Spanish and passionate about raising her daughter as a polyglot, believing language is a key to opening many cultural doors that otherwise might remain locked.
