A former magazine editor and webmaster, Michael moved back to the Midwest from Texas in 2015. He graduated from a small Indiana college 40 years ago with a degree in Communications and Theater Arts.

His wife, an Illinois native who likes snow, does research for the Census Bureau. His son is a student at the local high school. His family has been served by the Roscoe Post Office since 2018, in a tri-level house off Atwood Road that requires eleven steps to enter.
