
Serusha Govender
Serusha Govender is a science journalist, specialist writer, multimedia producer, and documentary filmmaker. She covers the intersection of science, development and human rights across the Global South and Europe for various media including the BBC, Africa.com, Al Jazeera, and CNN. She has also worked consistently with global institutions to improve science storytelling in and about Africa in the international media and worked to amplify underrepresented voices in critical spaces.
Additionally, her research has been published by the Reuters Institute for the Study of Journalism at Oxford University and the World Federation of Science Journalists, and she has served as the journalist-in-residence at the Institute of Tropical Medicine in Antwerp, Belgium. She is also an Associate Fellow at Chatham House specializing in emerging technology and gender inclusivity and is their former Mo Ibrahim Academy Fellow with the International Security Programme.
