I’m a Canadian journalist passionate about international news with several years of experience covering many beats from business, to politics, to human rights and more. I’m trilingual in English, Urdu and Spanish and have lived on four continents including North America, Asia, South America, and Europe.
I've worked with prominent global news outlets including Business Insider, Al Jazeera, and The Associated Press, while based in London, UK; as well as TeleSUR, one of Latin America’s largest media networks, while based in Quito, Ecuador. I've also freelanced everywhere from Mexico to Denmark, with my work published in over a dozen outlets including CNN, The Washington Post, VICE and more. In June 2019, I was named "Journalist of the Month" by the International Journalists' Network.
I hold a Master’s degree in Journalism, Media and Globalisation, through the Mundus Journalism program, for which I received a €49,000 full-ride scholarship from the European Commission. I also hold a Bachelor’s degree in International Relations from the University of British Columbia in Vancouver, Canada, where I co-founded a campus media outlet focused on social justice issues and gave a TEDx talk about the experience.
