Adam Wray is the founder and CEO of AstrumU, a data and insights company that has developed an innovative AI data platform to measure and leverage educational experiences, along with work and life skills, to enhance career opportunities. This data equips individuals with a robust Verified Skills Profile that enables them to discover and maximize their unique strengths and experiences, guiding them toward opportunities that align with their passions and goals. It also gives companies, educational institutions, nonprofits and governments a set of integrated Skills Measurement Tools to enable talent optimization, continued learning and career mobility at an individual level – delivering a greater return on education (ROE). AstrumU is dedicated to advancing a skills-based economy that levels the playing field for individuals, empowers educational institutions with data and helps support the workforce goals of employers, government entities and enterprises.

With more than 20 years of experience leading and founding data analytics, cybersecurity, cloud, and AI-focused companies, Wray has a proven track record of creating innovative solutions and driving successful outcomes in the technology sector. Prior to founding AstrumU in 2017, he served as CEO and president of Basho Technologies, Inc., a big data distributed systems database company. Wray’s background also includes serving as CEO and one of the founders of Tier 3 – a private cloud services provider – and holding senior-level positions within Limelight Networks, Amazon and Akamai Technologies.

He has served as board director for Observable Networks, an AI/ML-focused network security-as-a-service provider; 6fusion USA and Cloudsoft Corporation, based in Edinburgh, Scotland.

Wray lends his background and expertise to a number of civic and community organizations. He currently serves on the Board at the Washington Policy Center, a think-tank that advocates for public policy based on free-market solutions, and is a member of the Forbes Human Resources Council. He has also served on the board of directors for the University of Kansas Alumni Association, VMare Service Provider Advisory Board and College Possible, a nonprofit assisting low-income students with college admission. He is also an advisor to Big Sky Bravery, an organization that provides post-deployment programs and mentorship for U.S. special forces.
