Aidan Charron is the Associate Director of EARTHDAY.ORG and leads the Planet vs Plastics campaign globally. As well as the Our Power, Our Planet campaign, which is the global theme for Earth Day 2025, backing the tripling of electricity generated by renewable energy.
Aidan has a Bachelor of Science in Biology, with a concentration in Tertiary and Freshwater studies with a minor in Geographic Information Systems, from the University of North Caroline, Wilmington.
Aidan’s been a dedicates environmentalist since he was 12 years old and learned to scuba dive, he made the Outer Banks his go to place for diving and started to work at a local Aquarium, regularly diving in the shark tanks as part of their education events. Specifically shining a light on the dangers of plastics to marine life. Drawing on this inspiration from his childhood spent along the beaches of North Carolina, Aidan developed a deep-seated passion for the environment. After college Aidan worked in wetland reclamation and joined Earth Day in 2020, helping to shape the End Plastics Campaign since 2022 and becoming the Director of it in 2023.
