I launched a private practice right out of residency, now specializing in "preventive and preparatory care," which effectively combines expertise in "prehabilitation" and preventive medicine. In a standard prehabilitation program, I medically optimize patients before surgery, cancer therapy, and pregnancy for better response to treatments, fewer complications, and faster recovery. I co-edited the first textbook of prehabilitation ("A Prehabilitation Guide for All Providers") and authored the patient companion "Healing in Advance: Your Prehabilitation Handbook."

I use an approach similar to prehabilitation when helping individuals reach goals related to health and physical activity like learning to deadlift in the gym, hike the mountains comfortably, or wean off of medications for chronic diseases like diabetes, chronic pain, and insomnia, to name a few common situations.

I trained at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center (UPMC) in the Department of Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation (PM&R) and have dual board certifications in PM&R and Obesity Medicine. Prior to residency, I graduated from Rutgers Business School and Rutgers-Robert Wood Johnson Medical School in the dual MD/MBA class of 2019.
