Alice is the Co-founder of the Wren Project - a UK charity which supports people with the emotional and psychosocial impact of diagnosis with autoimmune disease. She developed Alopecia aged 27, when she was volunteering in Greece to help refugees seeking safety in Europe. It's quite a thing to have your image change overnight, and be forced to confront a new identity and diagnosis with an autoimmune disease - an incurable illness.
