Up until 2003, Amy Loughren was a self-proclaimed lazy Buddhist, a trauma/ICU/ER nurse, and a Physics junkie. She inconsistently meditated and read the occasional self-help book. She was a single mom, overworked, and not seeking anything remotely resembling the metaphysical except maybe a good night's sleep with a fun prophetic dream. Abruptly, on a random Tuesday, everything changed. She was whisked into a whirlwind of espionage, intrigue, and darkness, which catapulted her onto a spiritual quest to try and answer why she was blind to a MURDERER standing right in front of her.

Amy’s good friend Charlie, who everyone knew as one of her closest work friends, was fired. She was shocked and pissed and truly confused. When detectives from the office of the local prosecutor showed up weeks later asking questions, she refused to speak to them. She was convinced it was a witch hunt and truly, she wished it had been. When the lead investigator asked for her help, she wanted to say no, but something inside her was much stronger than her fear: a fierce MORAL COMPASS that took over, guiding her through every aspect of a brutal investigation.
Charles Cullen murdered what is believed to be over 400 people making him the most prolific serial killer in American history. He would still be on his killing spree if Amy had not risked her career and her life to put him away.
After the investigation ended, she was deeply affected by guilt and suffered from debilitating anxiety. She needed answers to why she could have loved someone so dark. She eventually found her answer, and it was surprisingly beautiful and simple.

The journey down the rabbit hole to that answer brought her face-to-face with spiritual gurus, energy healers, visionaries, and real-life, spontaneously awakened, modern-day Buddhas. She read book after book, and took every workshop she could find. She had set out to heal herself and in that process, experienced many spiritually transformative events. She then, using the tools she accumulated, created a life filled with abundance, peace, joy, exotic travels, and beautiful relationships.

She is a Reiki Master, a Hypnotherapist, NLP Practitioner, Meditation Instructor, DreamSculptor Practitioner, Reconnective Healer, Integrative Energy Healer, Past Life Regressionist, Crystal Language Reader, Medical Intuitive, and learned "The Work" from Byron Katie. The skills, gifts, magic wands, and certifications she acquired she now uses to help others discover their own answers, their own gifts, and their own tools … tools to wield and glitter up their own magically illuminated path.

Amy has appeared on 60 Minutes, CBS This Morning, The Katie Couric Show and The Joy Behar Show. She hosted a radio show about holistic and metaphysical healing called “Bringing Home the Beacon.” Her part in the investigation is described in the 2013 book “The Good Nurse, A True Story of Medicine Madness and Murder” by Charles Graeber. Amy’s story was made into a film, and she was portrayed by Jessica Chastain in the 2022 Netflix feature The Good Nurse. The companion documentary about Charles Cullen, Capturing the Killer Nurse, is also available on Netflix.

Now retired ICU and CCU nurse of 35 years, Amy is deeply committed to her nursing and fellow health workers and their well-being. She saw- and experienced first hand - the toll, stress and challenges that a career in healthcare takes. While her story is one at the extreme, there are thousands that are struggling daily - feeling hopeless and without an outlet for help, care and support. To serve this mission, Amy has created Most Important Patient, a series of conferences for health care workers featuring premiere speakers and workshops are all curated and meticulously programmed with one goal - ending the stigma of mental health challenges in healthcare. Amy knows that this will save lives.
