Angela Kennedy, D.C., M.B.A., has substantial experience in and deep knowledge of medical specialty society quality programs. She has spent 15 years working at various medical societies developing clinical data registries, accreditation programs, measures, and guidelines; analyzing and strategizing health policy changes; and working on technology and data strategy and development. She served as a project manager for the federal government contract for the Office of the National Coordinator to support and accelerate the meaningful use of EHRs.
In 2016, the 21st Century Cures Act (Cures Act) resulted in new regulations that fundamentally changed the way deidentified patient data is accessed and utilized. However, data quality and interoperability between the various healthcare stakeholders has been a major hurdle.
