Audrey Calderwood, MD, MS, is director of the Comprehensive Gastroenterology Center at Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center. Her areas of focus include colon cancer screening and surveillance decisions, gastrointestinal cancer risk and prevention, general gastroenterology, and health services research. Dr. Calderwood's research interests include quality and outcomes around screening colonoscopy, decision-making around surveillance colonoscopy among older adults, and high-risk colon cancer syndromes, and she is currently leading a large, multi-centered randomized clinical trial funded by Patient-Centered Outcomes Research Institute, comparing stool-based testing to colonoscopy for surveillance in older adults with a history of colon polyps. Dr. Calderwood attended medical school at the University of Chicago Pritzker School of Medicine, is fellowship-trained in gastroenterology and board-certified in internal medicine.
