In Barbara’s most recent role at Stripe, she built the company’s global HR function as International Head of HR, EMEA & APAC. Prior to Stripe, she spent more than 12 years on the People team at Google. Barbara has over 20 years experience working for fast-paced scale-ups to large enterprise business, with a keen focus of building and nurturing high-performing distributed teams.

Remote Work Survey: Parents Struggle with Childcare Costs
Barbara reveals that nearly one in three families spend over $900 weekly on childcare. "Economic pressures have led 26.6% to rely more on family or friends," she says. Additionally, 40.2% of hybrid and 38.7% of remote workers cut essential spending to afford childcare, and nearly one in four parents delay having more children due to job demands.

The upcoming rules will shift the needle on FWA implementation in Singapore. The Tripartite Guidelines will encourage employers to objectively evaluate the impact of different working arrangements, and help them prepare for the future by considering FWAs seriously.
