Barry Brown is a Senior Managing Director in the Dallas office of JLL Capital Markets, Americas, and is also a Retail Group Leader. He joins JLL as part of the HFF acquisition and has more than 32 years of experience in the real estate investment banking business as an advisor and transactional agent. He was part of the team that established the investment advisory group within HFF and is co-lead of JLL’s national retail group. Barry has handled real estate asset sales for major corporate, institutional and entrepreneurial owners totaling more than $14.8 billion, and has placed more than 92 million square feet of real estate throughout his career. Barry started at HFF in 1996. Prior to that, he was a commercial real estate broker with a Dallas-based real estate firm.
Consumer spending on retail has rebounded, eclipsing pre-COVID levels. Now, investor confidence – and demand – is following.
“We have seen increased investor demand in not only major markets but also secondary markets for quality essential assets, as well as value-add offerings,” said Senior Managing Director Barry Brown, JLL’s retail co-leader in capital markets. “This interest level in retail has expanded from primarily grocery in 2020 and now includes larger-format retail power centers.”
