Ben Bailey is JLL’s Executive Leader for the Insurance Business Segment. In this role he is responsible for client relationships, strategy and leadership of 400 JLL associates that manage 40 million square feet globally. He brings the latest thought leadership on industry trends, innovative solutions and strives to create an exceptional experience for all the clients within his segment.
Before assuming his current role, Mr. Bailey was the Group Account Executive responsible for a portfolio of 15 client accounts across the Southeast United States. In this role he expanded regional business by a third while spearheading the region’s operational initiatives to develop talent and boost client satisfaction scores to 8.9/10. As an Account Director, Mr. Bailey led our Lenovo relationship delivering on key priorities by reducing portfolio vacancy 14.8% and capturing $23 million in cost savings/avoidance over three years. He drove several strategic initiatives to improve business alignment while expanding the relationship to include new countries and services. Mr. Bailey also worked as Director of the Program Management team on our United Health Group account. There his team oversaw end-to-end delivery for the more than 20-million-square-foot portfolio. Again, he led numerous initiatives including the redesign of UHG’s project delivery for greater efficiency and scale.
Mr. Bailey started his career with JLL in a Leadership Rotation Program based in San Francisco, California. There he led multi-site programs, designed pilots for innovative facility service models and developed firm-recognized best practices.
Prior to joining our organization, Mr. Bailey served in the U.S. Navy as a Civil Engineer Corps Officer. His responsibilities included organizational leadership, project management and base facility operations.
Mr. Bailey holds an MBA from the Kenan-Flagler Business School, University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and a bachelor of civil engineering degree from the Catholic University of America. He serves as an Advisory Board Member and Guest Lecturer for North Carolina Central University’s Real Estate program and a Board Member for CoreNet Global Carolinas Chapter. He is also a LEED Accredited Professional and a Lean/Six Sigma Black Belt.
“They need mentorship. They need connections through the office culture, and they want to be in the office. The problem [we have seen in] the last few years is that when they come into the office, it’s a ghost town,” Bailey said in an interview. “So, how do you activate [the space]? How do you create energy in the space? And how do you make sure that people are getting what they want from it.”
