Bipan Rai | Source | Head of FX Strategy at CIBC Capital Markets

Mr. Rai joined CIBC in 2011. He is responsible for delivering strategic foreign exchange and macro research for the bank’s FX Strategy team. He is highly regarded for his knowledge of G10 economies and for his coverage of global central banks.

Mr. Rai‘s focus is on fundamental macro research including global developments, central bank analysis, and the implications for supply and demand dynamics of macro assets. His research approach is both fundamental and quantitative for thematic and event-driven strategies as well as technical for short-term tactical views. His research helped CIBC achieve the top rank in FX research in a survey conducted by Greenwich Associates in 2017 and 2018.

Mr. Rai holds an MBA from the Schulich School of Business at York University and a Bachelor of Engineering degree (Aerospace Engineering) from Ryerson University. He is frequently quoted in the financial press globally and a regular contributor to global business news networks.
