BreAnna Boyd, is the Founder and CEO of FeedWells, a nationally recognized organization addressing food insecurity and nourishing student bodies and minds through offering student-curated, locally-sourced, nutritious meals and educational initiatives. A Certified Dietary Manager, Certified Foodservice Protection Professional, BreAnna is an industry expert with over a decade of experience in the nutrition and food service space. She is also an English and Spanish culinary instructor who has a proven track record, training thousands of chefs.
BreAnna's journey into the nutrition field started in her teenage years, when she found solace in fitness to help her overcome life’s mental and physical challenges. Regaining her sense of self, BreAnna studied nutrition and healthy habits, which ultimately led to her founding 15md Wellness, and later, FeedWells. With 15md Wellness, a meal prep delivery service for high-profile clients including the NBA’s Memphis Grizzlies and Minor League Baseball’s Memphis Redbirds, BreAnna affirmed a turning point in her career. This initiative further solidified her dedication to applying her passion for nutrition to better serve her community and make an impactful change for future generations.
With a background in communication, BreAnna is a hands-on leader who actively fosters connections with team members, clients, and vendors to ensure the unwavering pursuit of FeedWells' mission. Her approach to finding common ground through communication extends to building an efficient leadership team, emphasizing the importance of day-to-day involvement. BreAnna’s effective communication style and interpersonal skills have proven vital in FeedWells’ ability to tackle challenges in the foodservice industry.
At FeedWells, BreAnna is driven by a passion to innovate the global food service industry and bring more awareness to child nutrition on the local, state, and federal levels. She leads the company towards its goal to one day influence legislation to provide more resources and funding for child nutrition around the world. FeedWells works to make this goal a reality through its non-profit, FeedWells Cares, which works to teach healthy nutrition and wellness to the community.
BreAnna seeks to continue fostering impactful community relationships, including those with agricultural spaces that enable FeedWells to organically buy, grow, and serve local products. One of the company’s most successful partnerships is with the YMCA of Memphis & the Mid-South where FeedWells successfully provided 20,000 meals daily during the COVID-19 pandemic–this partnership helped provide meals to over 120,000 students in Memphis.
FeedWells is a student-first organization that is committed to advocating for child nutrition and addressing food insecurity. Spearheading this purpose, BreAnna and her team host food tastings and panels, and have created a food council at their schools, to actively engage with their students, teachers, faculty, and parents in FeedWells’ mission to end child hunger. With FeedWells, BreAnna has ensured students are directly involved in their nutrition–the company conducts taste tests and student surveys for the children to select their favorite menu items.
