Byron J. Paul is the Group President of Automation & Packaging Technologies for Signode, a leading manufacturer of end-of-line packaging equipment, tools, and consumables with more than 80 manufacturing facilities and 7,000 employees world-wide. At Signode, he is responsible for overseeing the equipment, tools, automation, and reliability services groups.

Over the course of his career, he has gained significant expertise in industrial automation, robotics, packaging, warehouse automation, industrial software, flow control, and rotating equipment. Paul’s specialized, in-depth insights regarding strategic growth, engineered products, operations management and organizational design, have helped grow and support companies and organizations around the world.

Prior to joining Signode, he served as the President of DESTACO, a leading global supplier of high-performance automation, workholding, and containment solutions. Prior to DESTACO, Paul served as Managing Director of Asia Pacific and Vice President of Global Strategy, Business Development and Communications for John Crane Group, a worldwide purveyor of engineered products and services with more than 200 locations in 50 countries. He also served as Principal at The Boston Consulting Group, the second largest management consulting firm in the world. He holds a Master of Business Administration (MBA) from Northwestern University’s Kellogg School of Management, and a Master of Public Administration (MPA) from Harvard University’s Kennedy School of Government.
