Cara Ray is driven by her love for coffee, relentless innovation, and commitment to mentorship. As the CPG Global Product Director at Blue Bottle Coffee, she combines her passion for exploring the unknown with her dedication to caring for people through delivering exceptional coffee experiences.
Prior to Blue Bottle, Cara oversaw strategic innovation initiatives and developed new brands at the Clorox Company and Nestlé, where she worked in several roles focused on eCommerce category management. She consistently increased brand awareness across a competitive digital landscape while spearheading the development of innovative products and platforms.
Cara also established Blue Bottle’s Women in Leadership group where she leads the development pillar, focusing on creating opportunities for women to grow both personally and professionally. Under her guidance, the group launched a mentorship program that offers the same valuable growth opportunities she received throughout her career.
Currently, Cara leads Blue Bottle’s large-scale product initiatives such as the launch of Craft Instant Espresso, the most significant in Blue Bottle history. She leads the full product life cycle from conception to launch, and everything in between.
Specialty coffee can often feel intimidating and alienating. My objective is to design products that extend a warm invitation to everyone, regardless of their coffee expertise, and reveal the richness of a truly exceptional coffee experience through our offerings.
Crafting the future of coffee means leading the charge in innovation. Every product has a story from conception to launch, and I'm privileged to be part of the narrative that defines Blue Bottle’s history, especially with Craft Instant Espresso.
