As the GM and Head of Product at Lex Machina, Carla leads Lex Machina’s efforts to bring legal analytics to all areas of the law. She has been with Lex Machina since the company was a Silicon Valley start-up through to its acquisition by LexisNexis. Carla previously practiced public interest law to promote access to information and the use of legal data in policy decision-making. She is a member of the California bar and earned a JD from Duke University. Carla also received a PhD from Duke in microbial evolution and a BSc from the University of British Columbia.
