Chris Camillo is not a stockbroker, financial analyst, or hedge fund manager. And yet he successfully grew a $20k brokerage account into $60 million, without following any conventional investment strategies. Chris single-handedly created an entirely new class of investment analysis termed Social
Arbitrage:
by identifying the investment opportunities behind social trends and cultural shifts observed
across Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, and TikTok.
His unique strategy and success caught the eye of world-renowned author and trading expert Jack D. Schwager, who features Chris as one of the greatest independent traders of all time in his new book, Unknown Market Wizards: The best traders you’ve never heard of. In the book Chris reveals the fascinating
details of his tactics, strategies, best and worst trades. The book will be released in November 2020.
In 2015 Chris co-founded the social intelligence platform TickerTags, leveraging data to detect early trends from social media conversations through software which monitors and measures all social media mentions of words or word combinations (tags). Through this method he identified trends and meaningful off-radar information and created investment strategies based on the results. The company was credited for accurately predicting 2016’s Brexit vote, and embraced by Wall Street’s largest banks and hedge funds prior to being acquired by Jeffries Financial Group.
As YouTube’s first lifestyle investing vlogger, Chris created Dumb Money, where he and his friends livestream their process identifying investment opportunities and trading stocks. The series documents their experience and turned it into somewhat of a masterclass on investing.
