I am best when working directly with other bright and perceptive business owners and founders as their lead PR and marketing strategist and primary communications counsel. I accidentally discovered public relations in college, and I've always been enamored by the fact that it always offers a different challenge. You need a new plan for every brand and every situation. To succeed, you must constantly learn and adapt. I often wake up thinking of new articles to write, another way to create content, or a tweak we can make to a client's campaign. It's been like this from the beginning of my career at a Chicago agency. I really love the strategizing and planning you need to do to get things done well. I get a lot of energy working with smart people that also have a talent for this work. I've never been one to 'phone it in' so I think when I was presented with an opportunity to start an agency in 2002, I took it, knowing that, at a minimum, it would be fun to market my own company too.
