As CTO of Flykitt and a seasoned data scientist, Clayton is applying his AI expertise to eliminate jet lag. In his work, Clayton loves building teams to solve hard problems. He led AI/ML efforts at Digital Ventures, the corporate innovation and business building arm of Boston Consulting Group (BCG). At Wayfair as a Principal Data Scientist, he led efforts to modernize machine learning workflows to enable teams to solve new problems and move faster. As a leader in the Pricing Algorithms team, he combines economic theory with machine learning to leverage competitor and customer behavioral data to inform innovative pricing strategies. Before Wayfair, Clayton led data science at TiVo and Localytics and spent his early career in the ad tech and fashion industries.
Clayton studied neuroscience and economics at Brown, where he conducted sleep research in the lab directed by Mary Carskadon, one of the country’s preeminent sleep researchers.
Clayton also spends his time as a practicing aerialist.
An afternoon with the founders of Fount—a highly regimented fitness and supplement startup that tells its moneyed clients what to do and when to do it.
Clayton Kim is the COO of Fount (https://www.fount.bio/), a company focused on creating the most comprehensive and customized health and performance programs in the world, using AI technology and expert coaches. Clayton is a problem solver - whether that be for coaching athletes in aerial straps, or using data science to develop comprehensive AI systems, he’s always looking for ways to improve the thing which he is working on. There is a distinctly human element to coaching of any kind that cannot be totally replaced by a machine. However, what if we could use AI to replace a lot of the “busy work” a coach has to do, so that they can free up time to use their uniquely human skills to help more people? This is what Clayton is building with Fount. We discussed the ins and outs of how this is possible, and how it all blends together....
