Craig Taylor is the veteran founder and CEO of Iapetus Holdings, a suite of eight companies solving some of the world’s most urgent needs around energy, safety, and sustainability. As a privately held portfolio of self-funded, multimillion-dollar firms, Iapetus and its 400-plus employees across seven U.S. offices apply strategic thinking, innovation, and an entrepreneurial vision.
Iapetus headquarters leadership is 63% diverse. The company describes their diverse lens as a core point of differentiation in the energy verticals they serve. The suite of businesses offers vegetation management and environmental services, safety training and oversight, energy trading brokerage, energy procurement and sustainability consultancy, and tech-enabled critical infrastructure inspections. They include Atlas Retail Energy, Atlas Commodities, Iapetus Infrastructure Services, Atlas Field Services, Hyperion Safety Environmental Solutions, Gold Coast Utility Specialists, Soaring Eagle Technologies and UATI.
Craig has been honored by the Houston Business Journal 2021 and 2022 Diversity in Business Award and the National Diversity & Leadership Conference Top 50 Multicultural Leaders. He received the 2021 TITAN Platinum Award for the Entrepreneur and Company & Organizations categories. Before beginning his career, Taylor spent several years as a leader in the U.S. Navy. He received a B.S. in management from the University of Maryland, a J.D. from Fordham University, and a Global Executive MBA from Columbia and London Business School.
Craig recently completed the Malibu Triathlon and the Texas Ironman. He spends his time in Texas, California and Colorado and invests himself into Atlas Scholars, the non-profit he cofounded in 2013 to help narrow the diversity gap by offering motivated high school students a competitive summer internship that equips them with the hard and soft skills needed for college preparedness and career readiness. The experience focuses on mentorship, scholarship, and professional exposure to give students a realistic view into what the corporate world values and how to begin preparing.
