Dan is the CEO and Founder of Building 36 Technologies, a leading provider of home automation technology. Prior to founding Building 36, Dan served as the CTO of Radio Thermostat Company where he led the development of the first mass market communicating thermostat. His thermostats have been sold by home improvement retailers, cable providers, security companies and energy startups. He also pioneered the USNAP protocol and created the first thermostat with interchangeable radios.
As equipment gets more and more complicated you start adding more peripherals you need … and the complexity of installing these controls gets exponentially more difficult. So we said, ‘How can we offload some of that for them and leverage our technology in a way that makes things far more simple for the contractor?’
