5G wireless holds much promise for manufacturing facilities, so a few early adopters are buying into the technology. But its pervasive use in factories is still years off.
But many people are starting to look at 5G today, looking at it as a more future-proof strategy than adopting 4G. 4G LTE has been around for a little over a decade. They are not yet at the mass-production level and have not come down the cost curve to drive large-scale adoption.
