Dan is the founder of three startups in the healthcare space, including Hinge Health. With an extensive personal history of musculoskeletal (MSK) injuries, including several leg surgeries, Dan has long been passionate about improving outcomes for MSK conditions. As a proud first-generation Cuban-American, Dan is eager to use Hinge Health as a means to fix a fragmented health care system by providing accessible, clinically-validated MSK care to everyone. Originally from Miami, Dan received a bachelor’s degree in biology from Westminster College in Salt Lake City, Utah, and pursued a Ph.D. in the medical sciences at the University of Oxford.
I speak with Hinge Health CEO Daniel Perez about the state of digital health, what the pandemic did to the healthtech environment, and his entrepreneurial journey.

We selected business leaders, scientists, doctors, and entrepreneurs who are transforming the healthcare industry as we know it.
