  • Cybersecurity is a central issue in the case of Alex Jones and the search warrant served on former President Trump. Had Jones' cellphone been properly encrypted, his texts could not have been viewed by any without the password or encryption key. Similarly, because all of the materials seized from Trump were paper, they are easy to copy, without the ability to trace. If confidential and top secret materials are stored electronically, there are far greater protections and access can be restricted and audited. Again, this is where technology, and lack of protections related to it, only get more people into trouble.
