Daniel is a practicing primary care physician and leader in delivering value-based care at scale. Leveraging novel payment structures, he has designed primary care systems to better serve marginalized populations. In 2019, Daniel joined Galileo to launch a medical home model for patients with complex medical, behavioral and social needs. Galileo is a technology-enabled medical group operating across all 50 states, designed to improve the quality and affordability of care for diverse and complex populations. He was previously Medical Director For Quality at Mount Sinai Health System. He has published research on opioid addiction, healthcare policy, and medical ethics. He has worked at the World Health Organization in Switzerland, conducted fieldwork in HIV/AIDS in Latin America, and produced a podcast series with the New England Journal of Medicine. Daniel received his BA from Brown University, his MD from Yale School of Medicine, and completed his residency in internal medicine and primary care at the Brigham & Women’s Hospital.
