Predatory behavior is almost always preceded by grooming, which is a tactic used to break down barriers and normalize sexualized contact or conversations. However, not all predatory behavior has grooming elements, and sometimes the predator seeks to isolate an individual and/or offer them alcohol or drugs to break down barriers.
