David Birzon’s career in the hospitality industry began in 1991. After graduating from the University at Buffalo, he moved to Aspen, Colo. and found work as a prep cook and baker at Paradise Bakery, where he developed a love for serving guests.
During his 23-year tenure with Paradise Bakery, Birzon built a brand comprised of more than 80 restaurants and 3,500 employees known nationally for its strong culture and industry leading economics. After selling Paradise Bakery to Panera Bread in 2007, Birzon spent four years as senior vice president at Panera Bread and president of the Paradise Bakery brand.
David became CEO of Snooze in 2012. Under his leadership, Snooze has grown 40 percent year-over-year and now operates more than 50 restaurants in seven states. Birzon has ensured that as Snooze continues to grow, it puts people and planet first.
