An expert in running injury prevention and recovery, Denise has a passion for teaching movement. As a runner who happens to be a physical therapist, Denise has mastered teaching running technique to all levels in a way that is easy to understand and empowers runners to learn that are made to move. Denise is a small business owner, creating Smith Physical Therapy + Running Academy, LLC in 2015 (now known as Smith Physical Therapy+), which employing 20 employees in 3 clinics in the Chicago suburbs. She is proud to represent a women-owned business as well as serve on several boards, teach at the local community college and be a city council member in the great city of Crystal Lake, IL.
